Liberitutti (LT) is a social cooperative specialized in community building and empowerment actions at local, national and EU level. Liberitutti aims to promote social, cultural and economic inclusion of vulnerable groups and people with disadvantaged backgrounds. The cooperative acts to address societal challenges with a strong social cohesion view to enhancing solidarity values. Liberitutti acts to promote community development and empowerment enhancing open dialogue with public and private subjects to connect the local community with the existing services in the territory of Turin and its surroundings. To do so, Liberitutti participates, in close collaboration with public institutions, non-profit actors and formal and informal players, to the construction of a welfare community and social integration of citizens through promotion, design and implementation of social, socio-health and educative services.
LT has +20 years of experience in the educational field, starting its activities in 1999 in Turin and achieving a wide coverage at national and EU level in the last 5 years thanks to social innovation projects targeted to vulnerable groups and the school community. Today LT has a staff of +200 employee across the country and have different areas of intervention and targets:
- Education, by supporting the development of relevant and high-quality skills and competencies of children 0-6 and 6 – 14 y.o., young people aged 15 – 30, adults +18, seniors +65 (both male, female e non-binary) to foster employability, socio-educational and personal development as well as participation in civic and social life;
- Social Inclusion, by contributing to promoting solidarity values in the society valorizing minorities and preventing violence and discriminations against vulnerable subjects at risk, with particular attention to women, children and young people with socio-economic disadvantages or belonging to minorities (asylum seekers, refugees, migrants, ROMA people, LGBTIQ+, people with disability);
- Early childhood, by developing innovative methodology, approaches and tools to support efforts to increase access to affordable and high-quality early childhood and care, to strengthen and enhance the competencies of professionals (teachers, staff members and educators), to support parenting through local actions focused on social cohesion and community building;
-New citizens, by providing measures of assistance and protection for migrants, asylum seekers and refugees and encouraging the path towards the search for autonomy;
- Community development, by implementing actions to empower communities and minorities, tackling their vulnerable components and improving their economic, social, cultural and environmental situations by exploiting the full potential of endogenous resources and their inhabitants.
LT believes in the power to connect people, for this reason, we invested our know-how in innovative projects and local services managed on behalf of public authorities (e.g. municipalities). Some of them are:
- Public Baths of via Aglié (Bagni Pubblici di via Agliè) is a permanent community development project located in Barriera Milano that offers free of charge services for homeless (e.g. the shower service) or supporting actions for locals (e.g. social info desk), courses and workshops (e.g. the playground for families and children “I Pesciolini), and promote activities of a large number of associations and informal groups to create moments of socialization and entertainment.
- CAD Superabile is a daytime activity center located in Turin and was born as an answer to the needs linked to the state of psycho-physical disability of people of both sexes who are over the age of 18 and for whom functional integration into the world of work is not possible.
-Cascina Falchera - Innovative Urban Farming, is a local participatory project aiming at promoting green-oriented activities for the local community living in Turin;
- Glocal Factory is a shared laboratory for craftsmen and young professionals based on the idea of co-crafting. It is structured as a place to enhance professional talents, implement entrepreneurial skills, optimize resources by sharing spaces, networks and skills.
- Migrant’s hosting projects inside the Italian reception system, by managing some structures as CAS (Emergency Reception Centres) and SIPROIMI (System of Protection for Beneficiaries of Protection and Unaccompanied Minors) located in Piedmont, Lombardy and Sicily.
