The Garden of Chances (Esély-kert) Foundation fights against all forms of direct and indirect discrimination thatdisad vantages a person or group based on their actual or perceived characteristics, situation, characteristics, and supports the use of art, nonformal education and handycrafts in the fields of mental health prevention, social assistance and youthwork. A new civil community place, called "WOW! Community DIY Workhouse" (Azta! Műhely), has been opened by Esély-kert Foundation in 2018 in Zuglo. This place is an ecosystem of knowledge, tools, inspiration, and collaboration opportunities that support a more sustainable world. The aim of our workshop is to provide space, tools and expertise to make,
upcycle, recycle cloth, home textiles, bicycles, and other equipment for homes. With the help of workshop managers, users can repair their damaged items or convert them to a new function. Developing an environmentally friendly approach is our most important task. The workshop also serves as a community space. On the one hand, we want to address young people, organize programs that provide them with activities in the after school times, and on the other hand, organize community programs for families, where they can get help with their kids, and socialise at the same time.
With our activity we offer
- assistance in DIY or repair work,
- community, where people can meet,
- learning opportunities,
- space - initiating further community events.
