Opis organizácie

Peace of Mind is an experienced organization in the scope of Erasmus+ projects, focusing their daily work on youth non-formal education. The main goals of the organization include youth education about European values and identity, as well as encouraging multi-cultural dialogue. The organization has been growing each year exponentially, starting as a sending organization for partners' projects and reaching the level that we have already hosted multiple activities of Erasmus+ programme. As years have passed and our network of both, participants and partners have grown significantly, we believe this is the moment to expand the opportunities we offer to the young people of Latvia.

The foundation "Peace of mind" started its work back in April 2017. The main aim of founding this organization was to actively participate in Erasmus+ projects, from both sides as organizers and as partners for projects abroad. The organization has a strong focus in the field of youth non-formal education because the founders believe that it is the best way to enlight the youth about problems important to nowadays society. The values for "Peace of mind" foundation is about spreading the word about European values and identity.

As the main target group, I would like to mention young people, aged from 18-30, who set out to be future opinion leaders, decision-makers and active members of their communities. We focus university students, especially ones with fewer opportunities. For example part of our volunteers are facing geographic obstacles, coming from rural areas of Latvia, while others are facing economic obstacles, (coming from big families, needs to work to support their education, etc.). Also, we try to integrate people from the Russian minority, providing them opportunities to have opportunities abroad together with Latvian members and representing Latvia. We believe that it will lead to a better dialogue among both groups, and help minorities associate them more with the common values of Latvia.

Currently, Peace of Mind mostly focus on in organizing and participating in Erasmus+ opportunities, mostly Youth Exchanges, Training Courses and Youth Participating Activities. When working with this program so far we have put our focus on following topics:
-General Human Rights and Freedoms,
-European Common Values,
-Digitalization and Digital Youth Work,
-Environment and Climate Change
-Healthy lifestyle,
-Gamification and Board Games as a Tool for Non-formal education.

However, we plan to expand our scope of topics, exploring different human rights issues in-depth, adding projects about Animal Rights, and putting more effort into digitalization and sustainable development.

In our last years, we have strongly increased our organizational capacities by attracting a strong network of capable young volunteers. They act as a crucial part of our work and vision, as our work is following the motto - Created for the youth, by the Youth. Many of them have acquired their experience participating in local and international activities and now are already working on developing their own projects and initiatives.
A big step for our organization is to become a part of "FuturEurope" informal youth network, where there are members from many countries of Europe. Through this network, we have been able to develop a lot of professional connections and carry out projects in Latvia and abroad. Also, it has given us an opportunity to learn from very experienced organizations and share our experience with various newcomer organizations.
