RSI was founded in 1991 to promote the idea of a united Europe based on shared values such as democracy, civil society development, and value-based politics.
RSI promotes its aims through initiatives such as seminars, training and conferences dedicated to these topics and involves speakers and experts from more than 30 countries.
Most of their activities target Western Balkan, Eastern Partnership and MENA (Partnership countries) regions.
RSI itself is an association and has a further wide range of partners in the environment of EU institutions and training institutes and foundations among its member organisations both inside and outside the EU.
RSI also facilitates the information flow between EU members, accession countries and other European states by building a cross-border network between international participants and speakers sharing the same values and orientation.
RSI aims to reach a broad public, including the civil society from EU countries, scholars, and young people who want to develop their knowledge and active participation.

Cooperation is a fundamental value to carry out the activities with other countries and promote active participation in the civil society. It is of fundamental importance that also young people are involved in engagement processes, to support the growth of our values for a more united Europe.
