The organisation Petits Frères des Pauvres (PFP) is apolitical, non-denominational and recognized as a public utility. Since 1946, its mission is to fight against the isolation and loneliness of the elderly, especially the most disadvantaged. Through their actions, the volunteers recreate social links enabling isolated seniors to regain a taste for life and to be part of the world around them. The organisation promotes fundamental values: the unique and irreplaceable value of every human being, the dignity of every man and woman, whatever their origin, their social situation, their physical or psychological health, the fundamental freedom of each person, fraternity and fidelity.
- In 2020, with more than 13,800 volunteers involved in 374 teams throughout France, it supported 34 714 people (including 15,348 accompanied regularly and over time). 23,000 people were listened to by the Solitud'écoute phone line in 2020. PFP has 649 employees whose role is to encourage, equip and support volunteer dynamics. The organisation has 12 regional offices, called "regional fraternities" in reference to the value of fraternity at the heart of the associative project. And since 2020, it has 2 volunteer teams in the French overseas territories (Martinique and Guadeloupe), which is a first and reflects the growing needs in these regions, which are experiencing a very rapid demographic aging.
- Tällä organisaatiolla on Euroopan solidaarisuusjoukkojen laatumerkki. Laatumerkki varmistaa, että organisaatio kykenee järjestämään Euroopan solidaarisuusjoukkojen periaatteiden ja tavoitteiden mukaisia hankkeita.
