Organisatsiooni kirjeldus:
The Königin-Katharina-Stift was founded in 1818 by Queen Catherine as a higher educational institution for girls. Even then, the students came from many European countries and special importance was attached to foreign language teaching from the very beginning. Continuing this tradition, the Königin-Katharina-Stift is today a school with a European profile. In addition to the "usual" foreign languages English, French and Latin, students have been able to learn Italian as a 3rd foreign language for over 25 years. Currently, about 40% of the students from grade 8 choose the language profile with Italian as a third foreign language.
Since the 2006/07 school year, the Königin-Katharina-Stift, as the second grammar school in Germany and the first in Baden-Württemberg, has also been offering a German-Italian course of education, in which the double degree Abi-Mat (the German Abitur and the Italian "Esame di Stato") can be obtained simultaneously. With the acquisition of the double degree, the students acquire the unrestricted, general university entrance qualification for both countries.
This unique educational program was initiated by an agreement between the Italian state and the state of Baden-Württemberg, which was signed in Stuttgart in March 2006.
