Kreativwerkstatt - Freie Schule Salzburg is a new alternative school, initiated by an idealistic team of teachers and parents and based on the concepts developed by Rebecca and Mauricio Wild and the pedagogy of Maria Montessori. It takes the legal form of an association (non-profit), and will be recognized with the same status as public schools under the Austrian education system.
For the next school year we expect around 30 children aged from 6 to 13 years who will attend the school. Prepared environment, Montessori materials and intensive support by three to four teachers allow for open and self-determined learning processes in multi-age classrooms. The curriculum includes intercultural learning and the learning of foreign languages. With opening hours from 7.30 am to 1 pm, the school offers a lively and inspiring morning for the children. For some activities the children are separated in primary and secondary school, for the rest of the time they learn and work together.
