Bialystok University of Technology is the largest technical university in north-eastern part of Poland. At 6 faculties, i.e. Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering Management and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, nearly 7 thousand students are educated. The University runs an Interdisciplinary Doctoral School and has a wide range of postgraduate studies. There are 66 student scientific associations and organisations, an Academic Business Incubator and a Career Development and Alumni Relations Office.
BUT main strategic objectives are: 1) Leading scientific centre, 2) Modern teaching unit, 3) Efficiently managed and friendly organisation, 4) Favourable relations with the environment. By 2035, BUT will be implementing the 'My Green University' strategy. The activities have been designed in response to the global challenges of today's world: climate change, air, soil and water pollution, the progressive loss of natural resources, and the disappearance of biodiversity. Alongside education, the University undertakes activities that respond to social needs. BUT is among the universities that implement good practices for the concept of sustainable development and social responsibility. BUT also offers its staff and students the opportunity to benefit from the Erasmus+ international exchange programme.
