Comunidades que Florescem focuses in promoting youngsters’ and young adults’ personal development by approaching it on a humanistic fashion. Our main targets’ ages range from 13 to 30.
Through non-formal education, we instil social change, by creating conditions for everyone to contribute, by stimulating critical thinking and by:
- Giving voice to young people, including those with fewer opportunities, and thoroughly assessing their needs;
- Valuing young people’s ideas, talents and concerns and building our actions based on their inputs;
- Creating spaces to promote young people’s personal, social and emotional development;
- Encouraging civic and democratic participation in either conventional and non-conventional forms;
- Addressing young people’s issues and having them involved in creating adequate and positive responses to tackle them;
- Rasing community’s awareness for those issues and establishing a common-ground for civil society to cooperate on their resolution;
- Holding dear to European, democratic values and applying them in every aspect of our interventions;
- Valuing meaningful dialogues and interactions among individuals and organisations so they can restore lost connections, create new ties and cooperate towards the change they want to see;
- Transversally applying measures to ensure inclusiveness and non-discrimination in every action we take part of;
- Demonstrating the value of solidarity in social and individual growth.
