Järjestön kuvaus

The Foundation for German-Russian Youth Exchange was established in 2006 with the aim of intensifying and expanding youth and student co-operation between Germany and Russia and giving it new impetus.
In its work, the Foundation is guided by the resolutions of the Shareholders' Meeting. It is also guided by the recommendations of the National Board of Trustees appointed by the Federal Government and the German-Russian Council for Youth Policy Cooperation.
The basis for the establishment of our foundation and its fields of activity is the intergovernmental agreement between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Russian Federation on youth policy cooperation of December 2004, in which both countries agreed to set up a national coordination office to implement the agreement - the Foundation for German-Russian Youth Exchange on the German side and the Russian Coordination Office for Youth Cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany on the Russian side.
When the Russian war of aggression began in February 2022, the DRJA Foundation ceased all cooperation with the Russian government. Since then, it has been undergoing a transformation with an open outcome. The partners and employees of the foundation are currently developing the future role and direction of the foundation in a strategy process - particularly in relation to the previous partner country. The aim of ensuring peace and understanding and supporting a democratic, non-aggressive Russia play a central role here.
