"Caritas Diocesana di Patti" is a non-profit association that pursues exclusively the objectives of social solidarity and human promotion. The organisation was founded in January 2021 as an association of social promotion and since then it has been the operational unit of the Diocesi of Patti.

The main objectives of the organisation are the promotion of volunteering and actions in favour of people with fewer opportunities. We work to overcome discrimination and to prevent, reduce and eliminate the conditions of need suffered by families and individuals in the area.

Our intervention targets an area that includes 42 municipalities and is divided into a series of actions, the most important of which are:
- distribution of food to the people in need;
- distribution of clothing to children and families with socio-economic difficulties;
- management of the solidarity pharmacy;
- the Social Garden, whose activities are mainly aimed at people with mental illnesses, NEETs and the unemployed;
- a listening centre for people with gambling problems, with the help of a team of psychologists;
- the management of a temporary housing shelter for people in needs, in order to guide them towards autonomy.

Finally, our association plays an important role in providing guidance and information to young people in the area, both as the Eurodesk local point for Eastern Sicily and as part of the CEI's Policoro project.
