The French Red Cross Training institute (Croix-Rouge Compétence) in Occitanie is part of the French Red Cross (FRC), an officially recognized non-profit organisation, which offers volunteers the possibility to carry out a large number of activities in the fields of health, autonomy, youth, emergency, social actions and international solidarity. The participation of volunteers is essential for the implementation of the diversity of projects carried out by the association.

The FRC is a single legal entity but it is organised in the territory into local branches. The headquarters are based near Paris (Montrouge) where a national team works on the volunteering strategy of the organisation. The headquarters benefit from the quality label to ensure the right coordination of the projects in the whole territory, handling administrative and financial topics. It works very closely with the local structures of the FRC who host European volunteers across the regions.

The French Red Cross Training institute offers a range of courses in the health and social sectors at different levels of education : higher education (nurses, social service assistants), vocational education (nursing assistants, childcare assistants) and lifelong Learning. It proposes training across the region, is open to the international scene, innovative, mobilising new pedagogical methods, and it is centred on people and using new technologies.
