Opis organizacije

Mountain Makers is a rural makerspace (FabLab) located in a small village in the Auvergne region of France. Our main aim is to foster local development by sharing an open-workshop which gather a vibrant, creative and inclusive community. We are committed to three main vectors of action: education and lifelong learning, cultural and social inclusion, and entrepreneurship and innovation. = We provide a collaborative workspace that is accessible every day, offering free access to a wide range of low-tech and high-tech machines. Our core activities include organizing Repair Cafés, intergenerational workshops (30 days by year - 6 session of 5 days over holidays), english camp (8 days in Summer), community projects, training workshops for various skills (STEAM), and collaborating with local institutions like our partner the primary + middle and high school (yes our makerspace is surrounded by these 3 schools). Our annual soapbox race and recent series of workshops with the local youth center are also key events that engage the community. = Our target groups are highly diverse, spanning all ages and backgrounds. We welcome everyone from primary school to high school students - located 100m next to our Makersapce - looking to consolidate their learning and engage in social change, to adult professionals seeking to upskill, NEETs looking for motivation and inspiration, and retired skilled craftsmen who wish to share their knowledge to new generations and engage in community projects
