Alytaus District Miroslavo Gymnasium is a public educational institution providing quality education from preschool to upper secondary level. Its mission is to foster creativity, responsibility, integrity, and lifelong learning, ensuring the holistic development and well-being of every student. The school creates a safe, inclusive environment that encourages healthy lifestyles, academic growth, and active citizenship. The gymnasium participates in national and EU programmes such as “Kokybės krepšelis” (Quality Basket) and “Tūkstantmečio mokyklos II” (Millennium Schools II), co-funded by NextGenerationEU, promoting educational quality, equality, and sustainability. Miroslavo Gymnasium integrates health education and emotional support into daily life through prevention programmes, physical activities, and specialist counselling. Environmental education plays a key role: students engage in clean-up campaigns, recycling, tree planting, and use an outdoor “dome classroom” to learn about nature and climate change. The school also promotes European values, democracy, and solidarity through participation in EU-funded projects and civic initiatives that raise awareness about the European Union and its goals.The main beneficiaries are students, teachers, and the local community — all working together to build a healthier, greener, and more inclusive future.
