Beschrijving van de organisatie

The Association of Cameroonian Engineers and Computer Scientists (VKII) is the world's premier technical contact for the Cameroonian Diaspora and was founded in 2000 by Caeroonian students in Frankfurt. In addition, due to a strong increase in membership, various complementary district associations were formed in 2014 - including our VKII Ruhrbezirk e.V. As an independent association, the VKII Ruhrbezirk is a member of the VKII umbrella association. We also joined the Verbund der sozial-kulturellen Migrantenvereine in Dortmund (VMDO e.V.) in 2016. The vision of VKII Ruhrbezirk e.V. is to promote equal opportunities and equitable access to education, regardless of political, religious, ideological, or ethnic background. We contribute to achieving this vision, on the one hand, by providing expertise in the fields of technology and digital skills, and on the other hand, by creating safer spaces that offer protection and support to marginalized groups.Creating spaces for exchange and networking is a key priority for us. To this end, we implement a wide range of projects in the areas of youth work, mentoring and counselling, tech and knowledge development, adult education, as well as empowerment, participation, and development education. We operate at the local, national, European, and international levels. Currently our association is composed of 170 members, 21 volunteers and 11 employed staff.
