Generation Transition

Opis projekta

We are looking for a European volunteer who wants to work on the second phase of Catapa's Generation Transition campaign. We are active in the fields of globalization and sustainable development in Latin America and focus on the problems caused by modern open pit mining (ecological disasters, human rights violations...). We support local communities threatened by multinational mining corporations. The mining industry's impact on the social, economic, cultural and ecological level is often disastrous and fundamentally unjust. We are looking for one volunteer who will mainly be focusing on communication tasks and will be assisting the communication working group. Tasks consist of:  (help) writing articles and revising articles, educational tools and manuals  maintaining contact with volunteers, members, students writing their thesis and experts  following-up Facebook, Twitter and updating and editing the CATAPA website  making promotional material such as flyers and posters

Osposobljavanje tijekom projekta

CATAPA has expertise in working on alternative globalisation, international environmental issues, human rights... While working with CATAPA you will have the opportunity to learn very much in a very short time on topics like: Antropology, Latin America, macro-economy, human rights... There will be various opportunities to follow lectures and workshops.

Profil volontera

everybody who is open minded and has the desire and flexibility to work within a dynamic team of volunteers can work with CATAPA. What we further expect from the volunteer:  Interest and/or experience with environmental movement adds value.  Spanish/English/Dutch speaking adds value.  Independent, proactive worker.  Background knowledge of mining related problems is also a benefit but not required.  Be familiar with social media/editing/organizing events.  Age below 31 years
