"The contributions of young people to science diplomacy and volunteering "

This online debate brings together young people, researchers, policymakers, and representatives of European institutions to explore the role of youth in science diplomacy—a field that connects science, international relations, and global challenges. Participants will discuss how young people can contribute to international scientific cooperation, climate diplomacy, technological security, open science, and innovation within the EU.
Detailed Description
The activity consists of three segments:
1. Introductory Panel
Experts in science diplomacy will present:
• what science diplomacy is and why it matters for the EU
• how the EU is developing a European framework for science diplomacy

• How can young people participate in international scientific projects?
• What skills are needed for science diplomacy?
• How can youth influence EU policies in science, innovation, and global challenges?
• How can digital tools and open science increase youth participation?
The debate will take place on an interactive platform (Zoom/Teams) with moderation and audience Q&A.
