“Youth & Volunteerism” Programme
The Pancyprian Volunteerism Coordinative Council (PVCC) implements the programme since 2005 at all levels of educational institutions, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. The objectives of the programme include a) the involvement of management / administration, teachers and pupils/students in voluntary projects, b) the mobilization of teachers to plan and undertake voluntary projects throughout the educational year, c) the creation of Social/Voluntary Groups and Clubs, d) the participation of children and young people in voluntary actions, e) cultivating the principles and values of volunteering and active citizenship and f) the development of a sense of social responsibility for the benefit of society.
“Youth Initiatives” Scheme
This project of the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK) gives incentives to young people to have an active role in cultural, sport, political and social activities in Cyprus. It aims at encouraging non-formal learning and active citizenship through volunteerism. There are 3 application submission rounds during the year.

Youth Board Cyprus (ONEK)The Youth Board of Cyprus was founded in 1994 and since the beginning of its operation the organisation has offered young people multiple opportunities for active participation in social activities in Cyprus and abroad. The organisation’s main role is advisory, but it also undertakes youth related projects, following the approval of the Council of Ministers.
UNHCR CyprusUNHCR’s fundamental mission in Cyprus is to assist the Government to further refine and improve its asylum legislation and the procedures and capacities for a refugee protection system fully in line with international standards.
Civil Defence CyprusA governmental organisation that relies on both permanent staff and a wide network of trained volunteers. Its mission is to protect the population in cases of natural or man-made disasters, emergencies and crises. Volunteers are trained in rescue operations, first aid, disaster preparedness and community protection
