Beskrivning
Project focused in nature conservation from a holistic view, working on research, management, education and green economy promotion in order to promote nature conservation and sustainable management. The organisation works in a natural area with land actors in order to promote wetlands conservation, high natural value farming, endangered species preservation (specially wetland species) and habitat restoration through conservation projects and initiatives The proposal to the participant is to let him collaborate with the different areas of the organisation (biodiversity, sustainable land management, green economy, education, communication) to understand the complexity of nature conservation and to focus in some or one of these areas in order to better understand the work developed in this area. He or she must enjoy handling animals and not be afraid to get dirty.
Logi, mat och transporter
Accommodation will be in a shared flat, with other volunteers of ESC, in Santa Coloma de Farners (the city next to the organisation). In the city they can find different places to buy food and all things they can need. Transport will be in charge of the workers of the organisation or the car if the participant comes with it. Also bikes will be available for the volunteers in case of interest to come to the Fundació Emy's offices.
Utbildning under verksamheten
Fieldwork related to the monitoring of herpetofauna, avifauna and aquatic habitats. Support in the restoration of wetland vegetation in different areas of la Plana de la Selva. Familiarisation with monitoring material and drafting of reports and conservation projects. Also a training of the language (Catalan or spanish) will be provided in order to facilitate communication with the different members of the organisation.
Deltagarens profil
We are looking for adaptable profiles who want to have a wide experience, helping our organisation in all aspects. We can adapt the work to do depending on the interest of the volunteers, their abilities, skills... but what is not negotiable is motivation, team-work abilities, versatility and willing to help in preserving nature.
