Would you like to welcome a volunteer for SEO/BirdLife, meeting people of all over Europe, and being part of our nature conservation team? Riet Vell Nature Reserve right in the middle of Ebro Delta has a wide variety of opportunities which you can get involved in, with something to suit everyone. The volunteer role here at Riet Vell are mostly practical conservation-based ones with opportunities to get involved in environmental education, flora and fauna surveys and public events. Volunteering can be flexible around you. You will get to meet new people and learn new skills in a beautiful wetland setting. What you can expect? Habitat management, bird surveys, beach cleans, site patrols, general repairs, site access maintenance, events, fixed point photography, mapping of invasive species, butterfly surveys, bird and bat boxes checks, bird ringing campaigns. Speed up your Spanish learning through supporting with customer service for our public at Riet Vell Nature Reserve Visitor Centre.

Logi, mat och transporter

The volunteer will live in the Home of the Volunteers located in the Riet Vell Nature Reserve. The house is a partially renovated old house that meets the basic requirements, with two bathrooms, one toilet, shared kitchen and dining room, all basic accessories, including washing machine, basic furniture, computer office, living room and four shared bedrooms. WiFi is free both at the house and the visitor Center. You will have access to a vehicle that can be used out of volunteer activity time. Finacial support amount of 330 € per month that covers food and pocket money availability.

Utbildning under verksamheten

The work of the volunteers will have as their final objective their training as professionals linked to nature and the environment learning about monitoring and management techniques, as well as other basic skills needed in an natural, agricultural and rural environment. There will be different types of tasks available and volunteers will be able to choose which task best suits their skills and which ones they can help them develop new skills. Part of the activities will be demonstrative, such as workshops and field trips with other environmental management organisations.

Deltagarens profil

A more scientific profile is preferably sought and / or related to the environment (because many of the tasks have a scientific and conservation character). When this need is covered, the horizon opens in looking for people with other varied profiles with or without higher education, in order to have a multidisciplinary team because it refers to the interests and abilities of each volunteer. Also volunteers with good communication skill are welcome to work in our visitor center and to manage the Reserve social networks.
