Beskrivning
The project can involve 2 Bulgarian volunteers for 1 year. Its goal is to support the Permaculture Association of Bulgaria as a branch of the Green School Village and its LAND project. The Association supports its members that are Permaculture Design Certificate holders (or about to get a PDC) that are based in the country and develop Permaculture projects. Some of them are teachers, other consultants, third are in a process of creating LAND centres - demonstration centres for Permaculture. In this project you will be helping the Association supporting the procedures for LAND accreditation, the development of courses and activities with its LAND team. You will be writing a blog, interviewing members and good practitioners, writing a project, creating and testing teaching materials and sessions for Permaculture, and work on an individual project of yours. You can also clean mountain trails and paths, promote the project during events, create Permaculture designs, signs and info-boards.
Logi, mat och transporter
You will be in the base of the Association in Sofia, and will have a self-catering kitchen, bathroom, toilet, Internet, heating, working desk and shared rooms. You will get a bike to travel around the city. The hosting organization will help you organize your travel to and from the HQ. Food is either organized by your hosts or you, and you will be getting a monthly allowance for that. The project is supporting and involving Ukrainian refugees as well. Please keep that in mind and be open to help your Ukrainian peers and the rest of the refugees community in those difficult times for them.
Utbildning under verksamheten
If you face fewer opportunities (for example, if you are facing geographical, economical, social or cultural challenges in your life) you can get a Permaculture Design Course or a Training Permaculture Teachers one with a certificate. In exchange you will be helping the Association by designing teaching materials and creating courses for GSV's PAB. There will be a pre-departure and an on-arrival trainings delivered by your hosting organization. The Bulgarian National Agency usually organizes an on-arrival or mid-term evaluation training too. You will have a mentor too to help you when needed.
Deltagarens profil
GSV is looking for people that are ready to explore Permaculture design and support the Association's projects. It is important to be pro-active, responsible, a team player and eager to share time and energy for a good cause. To be a volunteer means to give and help from your heart. Volunteering is an informal way of learning, so be prepared to self-organize and take own initiative. Supervisors will be helping you locally and coordinators remotely, but you need to make sure you give 6 hours per day 5 days week to deliver the needed outcomes by following the project's activities set every week.
