Do you love nature and being outdoors? Do you want to make a difference for nature and the climate? Than you are the volunteer we are looking for! The visitor center ‘Landschap De Liereman’ is located near Turnhout, a small city in the north of Belgium. The center is connected to ‘Landschap De Liereman’ one of the oldest recognized nature reserves in Belgium and operates under the flag of Natuurpunt, the largest nature organization of Flanders. We stand up for nature and biodiversity and strive to protect open space and the quality of the environment. You will participate in the daily activities of the visitor center and the reserve 'Landschap De Liereman. This means helping in the bar and kitchen during the opening hours, working in nature and supporting our volunteers with nature conservation and restoration, taking care of our animals (such as horses, ponies and Galloway cows), developing educational activities for kids, schools and other target groups.
Logi, mat och transporter
You will stay in an appartment in the citycenter of Turnhout, about 5 km of the visitor center. You will be co-housing with another ESC volunteer. The appartment has two separate bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room We offer you a bike to explore the area and reach the visitor center.
Utbildning under verksamheten
You will receive on-the-job training from our staff and volunteers. You will be involved in various tasks and projects but also take initiative. The volunteering project also gives you the opportunity to join an on-arrival and mid-term training, organized by the national agency.
