Neighbourhood Centre Przystań Śmidowicza 49

Opis

Przystań Śmidowicza 49 is a part of the network of Neighbourhood Centres in Gdynia – spaces for the local inhabitants where they can invent and implement their ideas, exchange passions with others and integrate. These are places of developing ideas, broadening interests, establishing new friendships, tightening bonds and intergenerational integration. Volunteer will work as an assistant/help to animator, whose task it to build up and support local community development and networking between city representatives, ngo’s, local activists and inhabitants. S/he will also be able to run activities on his/her own aiming at social animation in the local district. Activity proposals for a volunteer: organization meetings on intercultural topics; supporting intergenerational meeting, its organisation and taking part in them; creating simple graphics for social media, taking photos and making short video materials; taking care of Neighbourhood Swap Points;helping in social garden, co-running it.

Nastanitev, prehrana in prevoz

Volunteer will be provided with monthly Pocket money and tickets for buses in Gdynia to go to work. Volunteer will share a room with 2-3 other volunteers in a rented flat. Gdynia ESC volunteers live in a few flats in different districts of the city and work in more than 10 different locations (libraries, NGOs, neighbourhood centres etc). Together with their mentors (local volunteers) they create a large, international and lively community of around 35 young people.

Usposabljanje med dejavnostjo

Volunteer is obliged to participate in training provided by National Agency (On-arrival training and Mid-term training) as well as trainings run and and organized by supporting organization.

We search for a volunteer who is empathetic, ready to act, open for a new experience and for the people in different ages, ready to learn and to grow. We are open for young people ready to share their passions and interests with others. Additional advantage would be an experience in work with or for the local society, teamwork skills and time management.
