The organization "Merhamet Sandžak" is committed to assisting IDPs, returnees, and vulnerable families in need through humanitarian assistance and socio-economic empowerment. The main objective of the position of Field Worker (Agriculture) is to support rural households and agricultural communities in assessing their needs, identifying potential challenges and issues, and proposing appropriate solutions. Your main tasks will be: ● Assisting in needs assessments by developing questionnaires to identify challenges facing agricultural households ● Working directly with farmers, providing guidance to improve practices ● Collecting and analyzing agricultural data to identify trends and support decision-making ● Reporting findings and recommendations to the project team ● Collaborating with stakeholders to align efforts with broader development goals ● Supporting the project team in implementing humanitarian actions.
Logi, mat och transporter
The volunteer will be provided with a lockable and safe place, with a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom in the city center near the office premises. They might share the place with another volunteer. In addition to receiving accommodation, the volunteer will receive a monthly allowance to cover other daily expenses such as meals, local transportation, communication, and other living necessities. Public transport is not commonly used, and the volunteer can use bicycles, walk, or even use public electric scooters.
Utbildning under verksamheten
The volunteer will attend a pre-departure training to prepare for the opportunity, as well as an on-arrival training which will introduce the participants to the host country. Along with Code of Conduct orientation and Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training, Merhamet can provide training on the Project Cycle Management to enable better understanding of programming and conducting activities. Volunteers will be offered the opportunity to participate in other Merhamet’s capacity-building activities.

● Preferred background in Agricultural Sciences, Horticulture, or vocational training in Fruit Production and Management ● Practical experience in fieldwork with relevant fruits is essential ● Proficient in mechanisms for effective fertilizer application, pest control, and irrigation to support healthy crop growth ● Expertise in soil analysis, preparation, and planting across various fruit types ● Knowledgeable in organizing and executing quality-focused harvests to ensure minimal damage and maximum yield ● Proficient in grading, quality standards, and buyer negotiations for successful procurement ● Strong communication and teamwork skills, enabling effective collaboration with organization team members and smooth coordination during all stages of production and procurement. // CONTACT "DOMINIQUE.BURCHEL@ADRA.SK" FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY.
