NGO Mondo is seeking a dedicated volunteer to Ghana Developing Community Association to enhance the capacity of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) in rural Ghana. VSLAs are essential in promoting financial inclusion, empowering women, and improving livelihoods. They provide savings, credit, and insurance access, helping members, especially women, build resilience, manage household finances, and invest in small businesses. Despite their importance, many VSLAs face challenges in governance, financial management, and sustainability. Mondo seeks a volunteer to design and deliver capacity-building programs to address these issues, strengthen leadership, and improve organizational skills. Key responsibilities include: Designing and implementing training programs Supporting VSLA leaders in capacity building Assisting with group profile development Facilitating networking and stakeholder engagement

Logi, mat och transporter

GDCA will arrange accommodation close to the office as much as possible. It will be a one- or two-bedroom self-contained flat with soft furnishing enough to keep the volunteer comfortable. Utilities such as water, electricity, Internet, satellite TV etc. will be provided as part of the package. The accommodation will have basic kitchen facilities for the participant to prepare their own meals. Participants can also purchase meals from a variety restaurants and food vendors, but caution is advised with purchases from food vendors. GDCA will provide transport for official duties

Business skills (e.g., creativity, innovation and establishment of incoming generation enterprises) Risk management (e.g., loan defaults, insurance options, emergency funds). Gender equality and empowering women in financial decision-making

Deltagarens profil

Passion for community development and a willingness to learn are the most important qualifications for this role. While a background in Finance, Business Administration, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or related areas can be helpful, it is not required. Additional certifications in microfinance, project management, or community work are welcome but entirely optional. Experience: • An interest or some experience in training, capacity building, financial literacy, or community development. • Willingness to work with Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) or similar community-based financial groups; prior experience is a bonus. • Enthusiasm for learning about monitoring and evaluation (M&E) in development programs, with training available. Skills: • Interest in facilitation and training, with opportunities to develop these skills. • Good communication skills in English or a willingness to improve. Knowledge of local languages is a plus. • Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities, with support provided for leadership development. • A desire to promote gender equality and inclusive development. • Openness to working in diverse, rural, or remote environments with community support. Technical Competencies: • A willingness to learn about VSLA models and microfinance. • Openness to acquiring skills in data collection and financial tools, with training provided. • Interest in developing familiarity with financial management for small enterprises and savings groups.
