MAISON DES JEUNES ET DE LA CULTURE (MJC) proposes two missions: Mission 1 "THE HAPPY AND LIVELY MJC!" : No French language level is required, but candidates must be genuinely motivated to learn French, dedicated to the learning process, and able to demonstrate their progress. Mission 2 "THE EUROPEAN MJC AND BEYOND" : for this mission should require a B1 level of French proficiency according to the CEFR. We are looking for highly autonomous, proactive people with the ability to continuously propose activities and projects. We are seeking responsible and organized candidates who can communicate clearly and work as part of a team on a daily basis. Volunteers will work in partnership with French civic service volunteers and will also collaborate with the other volunteers (4 in total) and their projects. The hosted volunteers will share a flat which is located 15 mins away from the MJC by walking. The appartment is near some minimarkets, bakerys, bars, restaurants, and local library. It takes about 20 minutes on foot, 5 minutes by bus and about 10 by bike to get to the MJC which is located next to the train station in the city center. The apartment consists of 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, a toilet, a living room, and a kitchen. In the beginning of each month, volunteers will receive pocket money for the groceries, for their personal use and for local transport (outside Flers) 480€ in total.

Volunteers will implement a variety of activities with the support of a tutor, a youth worker, and the professional team of the organization. They will lead projects and activities for different audiences, both inside and outside the MJC. In addition to the annual program already planned, volunteers are encouraged to create workshops, projects, and artistic events. They will also have significant freedom to develop personal initiatives and prepare for their future after the European volunteering experience. French lessons will be provided through language apps or personalized classes.

Members from all countries covered by the European Solidarity Corps programme are eligible to apply. - Volunteer must be autonomous, highly motivated, and proactive—someone who does not require constant supervision. - Volunteers should be tolerant, inclusive, and respectful, and is encouraged to inform us of any physical or mental health concerns (this will of course not influence the recruitment decision). The hosting organisation is committed to ensuring the well-being of volunteers and will prepare appropriate healthcare support in advance to provide proper welcome and care. - Volunteers should be ready to discover the professional environment within a cultural structure dedicated to popular education, and have the courage to live abroad. - Volunteering implies a commitment to social causes and a willingness to give of oneself in order to support others, while also receiving valuable experiences in return, directly or indirectly. - Volunteering is not equivalent to an Erasmus experience within formal or professional education. - Interested candidates must send their CV and motivation letter, and complete the application form available at the following link : https://canva.link/v5b7era57ts3aot - Please indicate in the header of your CV the title of the mission you are applying for.
