The tasks will be developed at areas co-managed by Plantar Uma Árvore inserted in Bussaco National Forest, located in the municipality of Mealhada. Nastanitev, prehrana in prevoz
The association will ensure dorm conditions and support for food expenses to the volunteers foreseen in the agreement. The volunteer will be granted a reimbursement of expenses to travel from/to his residence. This accounts only for the oncoming travel (from residence, at the start of the period) and the outgoing travel (to residence, at the end of the period). All other travelling to/from residence will not be supported. Travelling from Plantar Uma Árvore headquarters to/from field-work areas will provided.
Usposabljanje med dejavnostjo
“On-job” training will be provided along the volunteering period on: identification of native species and ecological context of the working areas, nature based solutions for erosion control; invasive alien species control, natural engineering technics for water lines restoration, nursery procedures, plantation and maintenance good practices, management and maintenance of pedestrian trails and main ecological problematics related with visitors impacts.
Profil udeleženca
No need for specific academic background or previous experience. We are searching for a volunteer engaged with on-field concrete work in nature conservation, resilience to work under adverse weather and terrain conditions, ability to cope with teamwork, predisposition to live and work together with the team for the volunteering period, creative thinking, adaptive planning/work and good communication.
