At Maison de l'Europe Bordeaux-Aquitaine (MEBA), we defend the idea that the European spirit is forged from simple daily actions that shape the common European identity. It's been already 10 years the MEBA carries out the project ‘Ambassadors of European values’, aiming to contribute to creation of a better and more peaceful environment through solidarity, team spirit, joy and optimism. A new 'green' dimension was added to our project last September and this volunteering mission thus includes: presentation of European countries, their culture, heritage, languages and politics through educational workshops at schools (primary-secondary-high schools), linguistic cafés, radio shows, organization of cultural events, creation of social media contents, participation at big events organized by the city, promotion of active citizenship, sustainability, environmental inclusion and solidarity in our society. Your future flat is situated at a student residence in the neighbourhood of La Bastide in Bordeaux. The flat is shared by two, each of you having your own private room. The living-room with kitchen and bathroom are shared, mutual respect is therefore required from both flatmates. Your monthly allowance is 450€, laundry is not included, but the local transport card is provided as well as access to the OLS platform to improve your language skills. You'll be part of a group of 12 volunteers coming from different countries, so in case of difficulty, you'll always have someone to count on! :)

As every other European volunteer, you will participate at the on-arrival seminar. You'll be joining a project that has already started, but you'll progressively discover the city and start to conduct workshops at schools and other partner structures about your country, EU and sustainable development related topics, promote youth mobility programmes, speak on the radio, lead language exchanges (linguistic cafés), organize cultural events, create videos, etc. At MEBA, EVERY WEEK IS DIFFERENT & our timetable is rather DYNAMIC, but that's why you can just hardly get bored!

We're looking for someone who's not afraid to CREATE and CONDUCT educational workshops, ENTERTAIN youngsters & SPEAK in public. To say a word or two on the RADIO in French? Yes, that'll be one of your tasks... and teaching the public English or your beautiful native LANGUAGE as well! Having a POSITIVE attitude (not only) towards biking is an advantage! You need to be FLEXIBLE & ADAPTABLE as our timetable changes based on needs of our partners. But most IMPORTANTLY, we're looking for a MOTIVATED & RESPECTFUL person with some knowledge of FRENCH, as this is our working language. Do you meet ALL the criteria? APPLY
