Apraksts

WHR is a NGO working for the socio-cultural, economic and political rights of widows. In this journey of 25 years, there have been significant achievements made by WHR leading the single women’s movement in Nepal, bringing the issues of widows in the national mainstream, but also instilled it as significant human rights and development issue in the international arena. Some of the areas of interventions and the tools adopted by WHR include advocacy and awareness, leading the social empowerment with multi-sectoral engagement. The tasks of the volunteer will be of Proposal Writing and project development, Assisting program implementation such as trainings, workshops, etc., Provide assistance in fundraising for the direct assistance (scholarship program for children from marginalized community, emergency fund) ; Provide capacity building in project management: monitoring, reporting, and envisioning the projects final results,Communiation and Public Relations, Social Media, etc.

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

Volunteer will be placed at WHR’s fully equipped and spacious head office in Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. Volunteer’s safety and security will be ensured. Proper guidance of the culture and specific rules will be shared in the first meeting. Volunteer will be working 5 days a week from Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day. Volunteer will be placed in fully furnished studio apartment. Public transportation is the cheapest means of transportation in the city and it is easily available coming to office.

Mācības pasākuma laikā

- Volunteer will be given equal opportunities to learn and explore the working area of WHR. - Will be given equal opportunities to take part in the events and programs organized by the Central Office such as workshop, trainings and other programs. - Learning about women’s rights movement in Nepal. - Cross-cultural communication. - Opportunity to be engaged in making organizational communication plan.

Dalībnieka profils

Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. - Proficient in English. - Good communication/ Interpersonal skills. - Knowledge and interest in women’s rights.- Experience in developing proposals. - Knowledge on Peace building and conflict transformation will be an asset - Interest in working with community women. - Basic knowledge of technologies. - Sensitive towards women’s issues in Nepal. - Eager to embrace the diverse cultural aspects of Nepal.
