Women for Human Rights (WHR) is a leading Nepali NGO dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering single women through advocacy, legal support, livelihood initiatives and community development. Working closely with local communities and national stakeholders, WHR raises awareness on women's rights while strengthening the resilience and social inclusion of vulnerable groups. The volunteer will support WHR's communication and visibility efforts by creating engaging content for social media, the website and communication materials, documenting project activities through interviews, photos and success stories, assisting in awareness campaigns and events, and contributing to communication strategies that highlight the organisation's impact. Depending on the volunteer's interests, there may also be opportunities to contribute to project development or reporting activities.

Majutus, toitlustus, transport

Volunteer will be placed at WHR’s fully equipped and spacious head office in Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. Volunteer’s safety and security will be ensured. Proper guidance of the culture and specific rules will be shared in the first meeting. Volunteer will be working 5 days a week from Monday to Friday for 8 hours a day. Volunteer will be placed in fully furnished studio apartment. Public transportation is the cheapest means of transportation in the city and it is easily available coming to office.

The volunteer will be participating in a pre-departure training, tackling subjects such as securityand safety, interculturality and conflict resolution. The volunteer will receive an induction on WHR's mission, programmes and communication tools, followed by regular mentoring throughout. They will develop practical skills in communication for social impact, digital content creation, storytelling, social media management and awareness-raising campaigns. Depending on ongoing projects, they may also gain introductory experience in project development, reporting and NGO communication planning.

Osaleja profiil

Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. We are looking for a motivated, creative and adaptable volunteer with a strong interest in communication, gender equality and humanitarian or development work. The ideal volunteer should: ·Be interested in communication, journalism, digital media, public relations or content creation. ·Have good writing and communication skills in English. ·Be confident using social media and digital communication tools. ·Be creative and able to produce engaging written and visual content (photography, graphic design or video editing skills are an asset). ·Be proactive, organised and willing to take initiative while working collaboratively within an intercultural team. ·Demonstrate sensitivity towards gender equality, human rights and community development. ·Be flexible and able to adapt to a different cultural and working environment. ·Previous experience in NGO communication, advocacy, awareness campaigns or project support is an asset but not mandatory. ·Basic knowledge of project development or fundraising is welcome but not required.
