Beskrivelse

The St. Joseph Institute in Betzdorf is a place where people with learning disabilities and/or complex needs can live, learn, and work. Rooted in Christian values, our team of dedicated professionals uses modern educational and therapeutic approaches to support residents in their daily lives and help them thrive in a changing world. People of all ages live at the institute – from 4 to 90 years old. The children’s and youth groups are especially lively, creating a vibrant and rewarding environment for volunteers. There are also other exciting places to get involved, like the “Dorftreff” community hub and the “Tiertreff” animal care area.

Logi, mad og transport

We offer accommodation for volunteers in a shared apartment on site. Everyone has their own room, while the living room, kitchen, and bathroom are shared. Volunteers also have access to a shared car for getting around. On top of that, public transport in Luxembourg is completely free!

Oplæring under aktiviteten

At all times, the volunteers will have a team of professional colleagues at their side. After a while, they will be able to take on greater responsibility for individual projects and activities.

Deltagerens profil

A basic knowledge of German is important, since most of our residents understand only Luxembourgish and German. We're looking for open-minded and motivated young people who enjoy working with people with mental and physical disabilities. If you can imagine helping shape their daily lives, creating a fun and supportive environment, and being there for them in everyday situations – this might be just the place for you! What you’ll need: a friendly attitude, a willingness to engage with different types of disabilities, and the courage to handle challenging moments with patience and care. !! Attention!! Only applications sent via e-mail at the following address will be taken in consideration: andreas.weist@elisabeth.lu . Applications sent through the ESC portal will be ignored.
