Arci Catania is a cultural and social organization in the city of Catania. The main activities of the organization are the coordination of youth, cultural or community centers, aimed at combating racism, discrimination and inequalities. Arci is active in the defense of the environment, in the enhancement of common goods, in the LGBTQIA+ movement, in the movement against the mafia. The team of volunteers will participate in two types of activities: Practical activities aimed at the redevelopment of some spaces in Catania: the Garden of Scidà, confiscated from the mafia; the Bastione degli Infetti, a public park removed from decay in a popular district, ; Raffaella Carrà square, a queer community's space in the city center. Organizing activities, artistic and journalistic production related to the anti-mafia commitment and in defense of the rights of the queer community in the path of Catania Pride. The tools available for these activities will be: radio, webzine, Pride committee.
Logi, mat och transporter
The volunteers will be sharing a space in the city of Catania, not far from the activities places, accessible through public transportation and by walking. It could be necessary to get some needed for the accomodation. The hosting organization will take care of all the trip expences. The volunteers will be covered with pocket money for the whole week, that is going to be used for food and other idividual expenses.

Deltagarens profil
We are seeking volunteers who demonstrate a strong interest in the main themes and areas of activities of this project. Previous organizational experience in social and cultural organizations, as well as knowledge of the aforementioned issues, can assist volunteers in integrating into the project, but they are not essential for selection. The motivation expressed by volunteers to be a part of this project is as important as its alignment with their personal life experiences and future plans.
