Are you MAD for MED? Mad for radical creativity, bold expression, and intercultural exchange across the Mediterranean? We are looking for volunteers who are emerging artists under 30 in the field of contemporary art to join a 3 weeks artistic project in the South of Italy. Mad4Med will be a space for experimentation, dialogue, and co-creation. It brings together young contemporary artists from across Europe and the Mediterranean to: Create new works inspired by local contexts Lead and engage in participatory workshops in community hubs, Exchange artistic practices with peers across borders, Build lasting cultural connections through shared experiences. The project will end up with a final exhibition. We will give priority to photographers and video-makers.
Logi, mat och transporter
Volunteers will be lodged in a large apartment close to Altamura city center. Participants will receive food money and pocket money . Money will be transferred on participants bank accounts. Altamura is reachable by plane, train and bus. Link association will support participants in finding the best itinerary based on their exigences. All travel expenses are covered by the European budget. More detailed information are retrievable in the Infopack which will be sent upon request.
Utbildning under verksamheten
The first day of the project will be dedicated to the introduction of the program and to share some information about the pratical project. After that, the rest of the week will be entirely operational and devoted to the construction site of the outdoor classroom. The second week will be used to finalize some details and to evaluate the experience and plan possible follow-up.
Deltagarens profil
We search for 18-30 years old **** artists, please apply only if you are an artist! **** with flexibility and interest in the topic. We strongly prefer the volunteers have a sending organization which will take care of the preparation and support them during and after the project. Be sure you haven't reached the maximum duration of volunteering within ESC program (12 months). If you don't have a sending organization try to find one or at least read all the rules of European Solidarity Corps. In addition, volunteers should have the following qualities: manual and creative skills, a good command of the English language, openness to intercultural exchange and adaptability, interest and motivation to contribute to the success of the project, personal learning goals, and willingness to take part in visibility and dissemination activities. The selection process includes individual interviews. Beside application we ask to send a *** portfolio *** and CV, a motivational statement (max 1 page) explaining interest in the project, personal artistic approach, and ideas for workshops on community engagement, relevant links or documentation of past projects (optional but encouraged). You should prove interest in the topic of Euro-mediterranean dialogue and your artistic proposal should be connected with the main topic and related issues (dialogue, peace, environment, human rights, migrations...). The artistic fields which can be covered are related to visual arts such as photography, painting, graffiti, videoart.
