It is a Team Volunteering activity for 15 participants (9 locals + 6 europeans). It is located in Biscay province (Spain) in the greater area of Bilbao. The project’s core objective is to foster welcoming, open, intercultural, and supportive communities, specifically aiding migrants through integration and social cohesion. This involves preventing consumer goods waste, dismantling prejudices, combating loneliness, and working towards a more just and inclusive society. It emphasizes Intercultural Activities like communal dinners and workshops to facilitate mutual understanding and aims for Social Awareness by creating welcoming communities and directly addressing prejudices. Furthermore, it focuses on Intervention with Groups at Risk of Social Exclusion by providing basic needs and training, and actively promotes Volunteering and Social Participation, especially during summer, to strengthen community bonds and raise awareness.
Logi, mad og transport
Accommodation and Maintenance Participants will be accommodated in the parish premises of San Nikolas Zabalik, where they will sleep, cook, and eat together with the migrants. All accommodation costs are covered for the duration of the stay. For travel, participants are covered for round-trip journeys up to 2000km, with a maximum reimbursement of €309.
Oplæring under aktiviteten
The participants will be involve in dayly activities and they will learn practical things like to cook and serve meals, organize the storeroom, buy the food and other items for the living, organize intercultural activities, etc. Apart from that they will reflect every day about Inclusion and Diversity, Social Awareness, Intervention with Groups at Risk of Social Exclusion, and Volunteering and Social Participation.
Deltagerens profil
Young people between 18 and 30 years old (must be within this age range by July 13) * Both local scouts and scouts from other European countries will participate * A basic level of English is required, and a basic level of Spanish is also preferred.
