Our nursing home “Soziales Kompetenz-zentrum Rum” (SOKO Rum) takes care of seniors and dependent persons based on short- and long-termcare. For this purpose, the town of Rum has created our special housing complex that consists of 69 single rooms and 13 barrier-free rooms for the elderly. We try to support people during their daily routines, to make space for motivation and personal achievements and to create a respectful and homey atmosphere for this target group. Logi, mad og transport
Your accommodation will be in Rum (9500 residents), which is ten minutes away by bus from the city centre of Innsbruck, Tyrol. You will stay in a fully equipped room, 3rd floor, bathroom included, where towels, linen and cleaning products are offerd. A washing maschine is provided in the building of SOKO organization where you can eat as well. It is important to commit to the security rules of the accommodation. Costs for public transport and personal needs are provided (7 Euros pocket money daily).
Oplæring under aktiviteten
- to work in the building of SOKO where the elderly people live - to prepare and serve meals, cleaning dishes, collect laundry and supplies - support of inhabitants during their day-to-day activities - to participate in various group activities - to create and implement a personal project (with our professional support of course :-)) - to join regular team meetings - to participate on activities of the leading organization host called Cubic (where you will meet other volunteers) - to join a language course for German
Deltagerens profil
You need to be between 18 and 30 years old and be interested in elderly people. It is not for everyone to work in a slow atmosphere which is also about death, disabilities and medical support. But in context of a society which becomes older and older, it can be very interesting to reflect on ageing and about the conditions and circumstances “old people” have to deal with nowadays.
