***Please note that this vacancy is only open to volunteers who currently reside in the Netherlands; you do not need to be Dutch, but you must be able to provide proof of registration in the Netherlands.*** Imagine spending a few months in sunny southern Spain, near the sea, in a charming rural town, learning Spanish and making a real difference in the community. We’re looking for two motivated volunteers from the Netherlands to join our solidarity project in Albuñol, Andalusia. You’ll engage with children through games, sports, and creative workshops, support elderly residents with daily tasks or companionship, and assist people with disabilities in their daily activities. Most work is Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend events. Spanish (A2-B1) is recommended to fully enjoy life here. If you’re flexible, eager, and ready for a meaningful adventure, this is your chance to grow, connect, and contribute!

Accommodation and conditions Shared house in Albuñol: Furnished private bedroom Shared kitchen, bathroom, and living room Internet and bed linen included Food and pocket money: you’ll receive a monthly allowance to buy your own food and other essentials, so you can cook according to your taste and needs. Local transport: all activities are within walking distance (max. 25 minutes). For work activities outside the village, transportation will be provided. You can also use local buses or BlaBlaCar for personal trips.

Training is provided by the Spanish national agency. Different organisations that you work for, will provide support and training on the job. Pre-departure meetings and interview are organised prepare you before arrival. Mentor support is provided throughout the project. Together with your mentor you can discuss what possible learning opportunities are available and/or can be created for instance through the adult education centre.

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible volunteers who are eager to help, enjoy staying active, and are motivated to practice and improve their Spanish. Many local children love football, so an interest in sports, especially football, is a big plus! Albuñol is a small, welcoming community where very few people speak English. Volunteers should be independent, adaptable, and open to immersing themselves in Spanish language and culture. While living here requires flexibility and independence, Granada is just a 2-hour bus ride away, and the beautiful beach is only 8km away. This project offers a unique chance to grow personally, connect deeply with the community, and make a real difference. If you’re ready to embrace the challenges, you’ll find it an incredibly rewarding experience.
