This project brings young people together to make a real difference in our community through solidarity, inclusion and sustainability. It’s about helping others, learning new skills and creating positive change while working as a team. Through our Solidarity Space, volunteers collect, organize and distribute food, essential furniture, clothes and other basic goods to families who need emergency support. Every action helps improve daily lives and strengthens community bonds. The project also focuses on supporting elderly people by organizing home visits and fun, meaningful activities. These moments of connection help reduce loneliness, encourage social interaction and improve emotional well-being and quality of life. Sustainability is a key part of the project. By promoting recycling, reusing donated goods and managing resources responsibly, volunteers actively help reduce waste and support a more circular and environmentally friendly community. Small gestures change the world!
Logi, mad og transport
The volunteer will live in a shared house near Barcelos city with other volunteers in a triple room, sharing a living room, kitchen, laundry, and social facilities. Participants will cook for themselves in the shared kitchen. Regarding transportation, SOPRO provides bicycles and a bus pass for daily commuting. If any activities take place farther away, SOPRO will ensure appropriate transportation is arranged.
Deltagerens profil
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated volunteer who can adapt to different contexts and engage with people of all ages. The volunteer may take on diverse roles, from leading activities with children at schools to working with youth and supporting elderly people. We want someone enthusiastic, eager to make a difference and ready to bring energy, creativity and positivity to the community and into the volunteers team.
