This long-term European Solidarity Corps volunteering opportunity takes place in Šabac, Serbia, from March to August 2026, hosted by Udruženje Svetlost, a youth organization active since 2001. The project is designed to empower young people, boost employability, and promote active citizenship. Volunteers will actively support career workshops in schools, organize youth events and the KONEKT Conference, and take part in international activities such as Youth Exchanges and Training Courses. You will also help manage social media and communication, sharing your experience and promoting opportunities for youth. Most importantly, you will have the chance to bring your own ideas to life, create activities that excite you, and develop skills in teamwork, creativity, and leadership, with ongoing mentorship. Nastanitev, prehrana in prevoz
Volunteers will be accommodated in a house in Majur, a suburban area about 5 km from Šabac city center. The accommodation consists of two apartments with a private bathroom and a small kitchen, hosting 2–4 volunteers per apartment. Majur is connected to Šabac by regular public transport, and the hosting organization will support volunteers in daily mobility. Volunteers will receive a pocket money and a monthly food allowance. Travel costs will be reimbursed according to ESC distance calculator rules, with green travel encouraged.
Usposabljanje med dejavnostjo
Volunteers will participate in an on-board training organized by the hosting organization, as well as on-arrival and mid-term trainings organized by SALTO SEE. Throughout the project, volunteers will have regular meetings with a mentor for guidance, reflection, and personal support. Learning will be supported through practical activities, non-formal education methods, and recognized via the Youthpass.
Profil udeleženca
We are looking for 2 motivated young people aged 18–30 who are interested in youth work, education, social inclusion, or communication. Participants should be open-minded, proactive, and willing to take initiative, work in a team, and engage with the local community. No specific educational background or previous experience is required. We value diversity and different life experiences.
