Pythia Social Cooperative Enterprise is a social enterprise, whose mission it is to offer educational, cultural, touristic, development, social and economic services to the local citizens. For volunteers Pythia offers four projects, that if you can also combine if you would like! 1) Language table: As a volunteer you will assist during English and/or German language classes. You will engage in conversations with students to make them feel more confident in communicating in English and/ or German. 2) AKIPPKA horse farm: As a volunteer you will learn about the behaviour, nutrition and health of horses. You will also learn how to work with horses and exercise them. 3) Dog shelter: As a volunteer you will take care of the dogs at the dog shelter. You will do activities such as feeding, cleaning and providing medication, and of course lots of playing! 4) Tourist guide: Explore the local history and culture, and write blogs about the unique features of the area that you are interested in.
Logi, mat och transporter
Together with other volunteers you will stay in an a fully equipped house with two rooms, shared kitchen and bathroom. We provide a light breakfast / dinner and a full lunch meal with traditional Greek food. Dietary restrictions are of no issue. Pythia offers a monthly travel card to cover the transportation from the accommodation place to the place where the activity will be conducted. This travel card's route depends from the location of the activity. This card is provided by Pythia for the full time that volunteer will be with us.
Utbildning under verksamheten
The volunteers will be supported by a supervisor and local mentor. Moreover, volunteers will participate in a pre-departure and on-arrival training.
Deltagarens profil
Pythia is wide open to young people from 18 - 30 years old, regardless of background, competences or experience, with an interest in learning by doing and eager to have new experiences. Someone who is curious about meeting new cultures and living like a local for the volunteering period. We want people who find motivation in tasks and activities given to them regardless of their expertise. We are looking for participants who are willing to develop themselves and move forward with new capabilities. Only Dutch residents or citizens can apply!
