Social Inclusion

Fundación Escuela de Solidaridad

Sierra Elvira, Atarfe. Granada., Spanien

Beskrivning

The volunteering experience takes place in a social organization working with people in situations of high social vulnerability, including children, young people and adults. Volunteers support daily activities focused on care, inclusion and community participation. This includes accompanying children in their routines, assisting with educational and recreational activities, and contributing to a safe and respectful environment. In addition, volunteers collaborate in the general functioning of the organization, supporting tasks related to social inclusion, teamwork and community life. Depending on their interests, they may also contribute to communication tasks, helping to document activities and share the project’s impact. The experience is designed as a learning process, where volunteers actively engage, take responsibility and develop personal, social and intercultural skills through direct involvement in real contexts.

Logi, mat och transporter

Volunteers are provided with shared accommodation close to the hosting organization, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment. Each volunteer has access to basic facilities, including a shared kitchen, bathroom and common living spaces. Food is covered through a monthly allowance, allowing volunteers to organize their own meals according to their needs and preferences. Basic kitchen equipment is available in the accommodation.

Utbildning under verksamheten

Volunteers receive ongoing training combining practical experience and regular support. An initial onboarding introduces the organisation, its values and the context of the activities. Throughout the placement, weekly meetings provide space for reflection, feedback and guidance. Additional workshops focus on communication, teamwork, emotional awareness and intercultural learning. Volunteers set personal learning goals and follow their progress with the support of the team.

Deltagarens profil

The project is open to motivated young people interested in social inclusion, community work and non-formal education. No specific academic background is required, but a genuine interest in working with people in vulnerable situations, especially children and young people, is essential. Participants should be open-minded, respectful and willing to work in an intercultural environment. Flexibility, empathy and a sense of responsibility are key, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Basic communication skills in English or Spanish are appreciated. Previous experience in volunteering, social work, education or communication is an asset, but not mandatory. The project is particularly suitable for participants willing to learn through practice and actively engage in the daily life of the organisation.
