Join our volunteering mobility at Galileo – a democratic school in Wrocław, Poland, where students and staff share decision-making and learning is driven by curiosity, independence, and creativity. Logi, mat och transporter

As a volunteer, you’ll live in a shared flat with other volunteers—expect an international atmosphere! 🌍 You’ll live in a double room with a volunteer of the same gender, the kitchen and bathroom are shared with about 4-5 flatmates. All flats have a washing machine, internet access and are equipped with basic kitchen essentials, and fresh towels and bedding. What’s included? 💵 Pocket money (6 EUR/day = roughly 180 EUR/month) + 🍽️ food money (700 PLN), 🚌 a local transportation card for buses and trams. ✈️ Travel costs are reimbursed based on the ESC distance calculator.

Utbildning under verksamheten

🗣️🇵🇱 Polish classes are included as part of your volunteering hours—twice a week. Your first week will kick off with training for the whole volunteer group led by a project coordinator, covering flat and safety rules, local culture, expectations from teachers towards volunteers, specifics of working with children and potential challenges, EU and Henner health insurance, and a handy starter Polish vocabulary guide. Plus, On-Arrival and Mid-Term training sessions are scheduled at the start and midpoint of your project.

Deltagarens profil

We’re looking for a proactive & open-minded volunteer! You’re a great fit if you: ✅ Speak very good English (B2/C1) and feel confident communicating with both students and staff. ✅ Love working with children and young people (ages 6–18). ✅ Are proactive—ready to take initiative, propose your own workshops, and actively engage in school life. ✅ Are curious about alternative education and open to the values of a democratic school (self-directed learning, shared decision-making, no traditional grading). ✅ Enjoy sharing your culture through interactive activities like games, music, art, presentations, or discussions. ✅ Are responsible, reliable, and adaptable—comfortable in a dynamic environment. ✅ Are motivated to learn Polish. ✅ Have experience working with children (e.g., teaching, scouting, volunteering) or a strong willingness to gain it. Bonus points if you: 🌟 Have skills or passions you can turn into workshops (art, music, dance, sports, languages, creative projects, etc.)
