Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) Officer

NGO MONDO

GHANA DEVELOPING COMMUNITIES ASSOCIATION LBG

Tamale, Ghana

Beskrivning

GDCA seeks a skilled and proactive Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer to strengthen its internal systems and practices. The role is intended for someone with prior M&E experience who can review existing processes, identify gaps, and help build more structured, reliable, and sustainable systems. The volunteer will assess current M&E tools and practices across projects, improve data collection, reporting, and evaluation processes, and develop practical tools, indicators, templates, and internal guidelines. They will support project teams in integrating M&E into design and implementation, ensure data quality and usability, analyse and visualise field data, contribute to internal and donor reporting, and work with field teams to strengthen monitoring activities. They will also train and mentor staff and promote a culture of learning, reflection, and data use across the organisation.

Logi, mat och transporter

GDCA will arrange accommodation close to the office, typically a one or two bedroom self-contained flat with soft furnishings for comfort. Utilities, including water, electricity, Internet, and satellite TV, will be included. The flat will have basic kitchen facilities for meal preparation. Alternatively, participants can purchase meals from restaurants or food vendors, though caution is advised with vendors due to sanitary reasons. GDCA will provide transport for official duties. Local taxis and tricycles are available. Foreigners may drive with an international license.

Utbildning under verksamheten

This opportunity is part of the RISE project (Reinforcing Inclusion through Solidarity and Empowerment), which offers volunteers the possibility to engage in local languages classes or intercultural activities, and benefit from three sides of mentoring (from the supporting organisation, the hosting organisation, and an alumni volunteer). Prior to the deployment, volunteers will go through pre-departure training activities. Once on the field, the volunteers will go through a welcome induction with GDCA.

Deltagarens profil

Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, enabling them to effectively engage with stakeholders and the wider community. Proficiency in English (B2-C1) is essential for clear communication and collaboration. The candidate should have prior experience in M&E and be able to take ownership of existing processes, identify gaps, and contribute to building more structured, reliable, and sustainable systems.
