Join us in a unique opportunity to support humanitarian aid efforts in cooperation with the Center for Sustainable Development Studies (CSDS) through educational activities focusing on education for environmental sustainability. As a volunteer, you'll engage in diverse tasks such as providing global education activities in schools and community learning centres, including language teaching and interactive discussions with local and children youth on environment protection and climate change, as well as other relevant topics. The volunteers will live in twin rooms with aircon in summertime, hot water for winter shower and Wi-Fi, fan, etc. They will enjoy a shared kitchen, common space and shared bathroom with others. Accommodation is located in a quieter and no tourist area in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Here, volunteers can immerse themselves in the local culture and community, away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas. As part of the package, volunteers will receive three nutritious meals per day for six days a week. Additionally, they will be provided with a complimentary monthly bus pass.

Volunteers receive extensive online pre-departure training covering the ESC Humanitarian Aid Framework, healthcare, roles and responsibilities, security, communication, critical thinking and self-care. On arrival, further training is provided by the host organisation. A qualified mentor supports integration into community activities. A mid-term evaluation takes place after about three months, followed by a final follow-up meeting 2–3 months after return. Continuous support is ensured throughout the entire period.

We seek individuals who are friendly, positive, and empathetic, with open-mindedness and flexibility. Creativity, excellent training and facilitation skills, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities are valued. Video and photo skills are a plus. Experience with vulnerable groups is desired, as is effective leadership and organizational skills. Eligibility: Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
