The volunteer will provide direct support to TECHO Peru’s Housing and Habitat Department, contributing to housing improvement projects in low-income settlements in Lima. They will work in a hybrid capacity: in the field alongside communities and from the office with a focus on rights and community development.
● Contribute to plan preparation and project files for housing improvement projects in low-income settlements.
● Contribute to the design and delivery of training workshops for families on housing, safe housing and environmental improvement.
● Conduct field visits to communities for technical assessment and to support families.
● Assist with the systematisation of technical information and the preparation of progress reports and project monitoring.
Logi, mat och transporter
The volunteer will have established work spaces, so that s/he can develop the tasks assigned to her/him and will be provided with the necessary inputs for the provision of assistance; Accompaniment by TECHO Peru's board of directors and by the assigned mentor; Participation in training spaces organized by TECHO Peru for the permanent team. The volunteer will be provided with a monthly allowance of 650EUR and accommodation, as well as a return flight ticket to and from the country of origin. A health insurance scheme will be provided and all costs related to the briefing/debriefing covered.

● Be part of a multidisciplinary team and gain knowledge of social intervention in contexts of urban poverty.
● Learn about the characteristics of poverty and inequality from a human rights perspective.
● Design and implement housing improvement projects that have a real impact on vulnerable communities in Lima.
● Apply and strengthen technical skills in design, project documentation and the management of social projects.
● Develop skills in leadership, community work and intercultural communication.
● Strengthen your professional network.
Deltagarens profil
● Qualifications: Knowledge of/Interest in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Social Work.
● Languages: Spanish (essential).
● Software (desirable):
○ Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit (architectural design and drafting).
○ Knowledge of Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar).
○ Knowledge of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
○ Interest in community infrastructure or housing projects, or working in contexts of urban poverty (desirable).
○ Leadership and proactivity.
○ Teamwork and adaptability.
○ Effective communication with communities.
○ Empathy and social awareness.
○ Commitment to the social mission.
○ Ability to work in a team.

Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
