The volunteering experience takes place on Elba Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Hosted by Elba del Vicino, volunteers will become part of a community-based project that combines youth work, social inclusion, environmental awareness and community life. The project offers a unique opportunity to experience island life while contributing to activities that support local children, young people and the wider community. Volunteers will work alongside educators, youth workers and local staff members in a supportive and international environment.Volunteers will support educational and recreational activities for children and young people during after-school programmes, holiday activities and summer camps. They will help create a welcoming environment, organise games, sports, creative workshops and outdoor activities, while encouraging participation, inclusion and intercultural learning.
Logi, mat och transporter
Volunteers will live in a shared apartment in Rio Elba, a charming village surrounded by nature and only a short distance from the sea. The apartment is fully equipped and offers comfortable living conditions, allowing volunteers to enjoy both independence and shared community life. A car is usually available for project-related activities and daily mobility, making it easier to explore the island and reach different project locations.
Utbildning under verksamheten
Training will be held for supporting the understanding of the field of work.
Deltagarens profil
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated young people aged 18–30 who are interested in community life, youth work, education and social engagement. No specific qualifications are required, but volunteers should be open-minded, responsible and willing to actively participate in everyday activities with children, young people and the local community. Previous experience with children, youth activities, volunteering, sports, arts or community projects can be an asset, but it is not essential. What matters most is a positive attitude, willingness to learn and the motivation to contribute to a meaningful solidarity experience. As island life can be quieter during some periods of the year, we are looking for volunteers who are autonomous, proactive and comfortable balancing community activities with independent living. A driving licence is welcome but not mandatory.
