Long-term Volunteering with Semper Avanti Opole

SEMPER AVANTI OPOLE

Opole, Polen

Beskrivelse

Our long-term volunteering project offers participants the opportunity to spend 10–12 months in Opole and become actively involved in the local community. Depending on their placement, volunteers may work with children and young people during school hours or afternoon workshops, support activities with seniors, or become involved in local cultural environment. Activities may include language and intercultural workshops, sports, movement, arts and crafts, cultural events and other creative initiatives. Volunteers are encouraged to develop their own ideas and activities, always with the support and supervision of their hosting organisation. The project requires independence, creativity, initiative, teamwork and flexibility. In your first message to us, please indicate whether you would prefer to work with children and young people or with seniors to make the recruitment process more efficient.

Logi, mad og transport

Volunteers live in a shared coeducational apartment in Opole, with shared bedrooms arranged to ensure everyone's comfort and privacy. Internet access is provided. Volunteers receive 550 PLN per month for food and 6 EURO per day as individual support (pocket money). Local public transport is provided for the duration of the project. Travel costs to and from Poland are reimbursed according to the applicable ESC distance bands.

Oplæring under aktiviteten

As participants in a long-term European Solidarity Corps project, volunteers take part in the official ESC training cycle, including on-arrival and mid-term training in Poland. Throughout the project, they receive ongoing support from coordinators and mentors, as well as guidance from their hosting organisation. Volunteers have access to an online language course. Additional language support may also be provided, depending on available resources and the needs related to the volunteer's specific tasks and placement.

Deltagerens profil

We are looking for open-minded, patient, and flexible volunteers who enjoy working with people and are ready to adapt to new challenges and changing activities. Previous experience working with children or seniors is welcome, but it is not essential. What matters most is a genuine interest in working with one of these groups and a willingness to learn and develop the necessary skills.

Volunteers should be responsible, reliable, and ready to take an active role in their daily activities. We value creativity, initiative, and a willingness to contribute your own ideas, while also being open to guidance and feedback from coordinators and staff. As tasks and activities may vary throughout the project, the ability to adapt to new situations and changes in responsibilities is important.

A minimum B1 level of English is required, as English will be the main language of the project and will be used for communication with coordinators, mentors, other volunteers, and hosting organisations.

As part of an international volunteering project, volunteers should feel comfortable communicating and cooperating with people from different countries, cultures, backgrounds, and age groups. We are looking for people who are respectful, open to different perspectives, and willing to build positive relationships within a diverse and multicultural environment.

As this is a long-term volunteering experience, we are looking for people who are genuinely motivated to commit to the project, become involved in the local community, and make the most of the learning opportunities that come with living and volunteering abroad.
