Respite tourism: supporting families with disabled children
FUNDACJA INSTYTUT INNOWACJI
Warszawa, Polen
Beskrivning
If you like traveling actively, exploring places all over Poland, and enjoy working with children, are an empathetic person, and want to be an assistant to families of people with disabilities, this is the place for you.
We run a community center with activities for the local community (Gościniec). We also run a support program for families with disabled children: respite tourism. Volunteers will help out during trips for our beneficiaries. The trips will be organized all across Poland. In the meantime, volunteers will have activities in the community center at Warsaw, based on their interests and skills.
Logi, mat och transporter
Volunteers will share a fully equipped flat at Mokotów district in Warsaw. Pocket money (6 EUR per day), full meals during activities and money for food (free time/weekends) and local transport costs are provided.
Utbildning under verksamheten
Apart from trainings provided by the National Agency, we offer a wide variety of preparatory trainings to be an assistant of a person with a disability.
It would be possible to learn Polish during the project.
Deltagarens profil
Because of legal requirements in Poland with regard to working with children (so called Kamilek Law) a current certificate of no-criminal record is necessary.
Participants with special needs are welcome. It is a long term volunteering (12 months) - however it is acceptable to come for a shorter period in special circumstances.
