InterAktion is a non-profit organisation in Austria working with young people and communities in the fields of youth work, inclusion, intercultural learning and European cooperation. Our activities take place mainly in Graz and Trofaiach and include workshops, youth exchanges and training courses. Human rights, sustainability and active participation are at the heart of our work. We aim to create welcoming and accessible spaces where young people can learn from each other, develop new skills, share experiences and become involved in their communities.

As a volunteer, you will become part of our small team and create activities for young people, especially those with fewer opportunities. You can support eg workshops, trainings, youth exchanges on topics such as mental health and wellbeing, help organise small events, and contribute your own ideas, interests and cultural background.

The project provides the standard ESC monthly rates for Austria: €330 for food and €210 pocket money (according to the program guide). Accommodation will be provided in a student residence, where you will have your own room and share a kitchen/ bathroom with other students or volunteers in Graz. The Klimaticket for Styria is possible as well. We will have a bike for you. During your stay, you will have regular team meetings and a personal mentor who will support you throughout your volunteering experience.

Volunteers take part in On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term Training provided by the Austrian National Agency. Volunteers receive continuous support from experienced youth workers. We want volunteering experience to be a learning opportunity for both the volunteer and the organization. Your ideas, skills and cultural background are therefore very welcome.

We encourage volunteers to be active and creative. During your stay, you will also have the opportunity to develop and carry out a small personal project with the support of our team. No special experience is required: motivation, openness and a willingness to learn are what matter most. We look for a volunteer who is:

• Interested in creativity, inclusion, and youth participation
• Willing to learn and contribute to a team
