“Youth and the Museum 2026” is the result of a collaboration between YOUROPÍA and the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias, aimed at bringing art and culture closer to spaces and groups that do not usually have access to them, especially young people. To achieve this, we will carry out a range of activities, including the design, creation and dissemination of a board/card game based on works from the museum’s collection; talks in educational centres; activities in and around the museum; as well as international cooking workshops and intercultural events.
Upon the participants’ arrival, we will dedicate some time to group bonding and to becoming familiar with the resources we will be working with, particularly the Museum of Fine Arts. During the final days of the stay, a general evaluation of the process will be carried out in order to gather the group’s feedback and opinions on the experience. Accommodation for this activity will be provided in apartments located on the outskirts of Oviedo, just 15–20 minutes from the city centre.
Each apartment will accommodate between 4 and 6 people, in shared double/triple rooms, and will include a living room, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom.
The organisation will cover all transport costs related to the activities.
Each participant will also receive food allowance and pocket money at the beginning of their stay.

Participants will receive training on the Museum of Fine Arts and its collection, mobility as an educational process, the use of digital tools to create educational resources, and the design of pedagogical sessions.
The participants will develop a range of competences at both personal and professional levels, including teamwork; conflict management; communication in other languages; proactivity and creativity; resource analysis; and awareness of artistic and cultural expressions.
In the first weeks, a specific session will also address youth participation, governance and democratic citizenship.

It is not necessary to have previous knowledge or experience in culture or art; however, it is very important that candidates are genuinely interested in what they will be doing. There are two main aspects to keep in mind: “art & culture” and “working with people”.
We are looking for motivated, flexible and proactive volunteers who are able to communicate and connect with others, work well as part of a team, are sensitive to inclusion, and are interested in working with young people with fewer opportunities.
