Beskrivelse af organisationen

The Pavillons-sous-bois Public Library is a public service dispensed by the city (24 000 residents, at more or less 20 kilometers from Paris). Its mission is to welcome each and every type of publics, from babies to elderly people, and to grant access to all to culture, information, education, research, knowledge and leisure. The Library is animated by a team of 5 persons, from Tuesday to Saturday every week. They are in charge of :
- Welcoming the public, counseling and informing them, specifically regarding the opening hours
- Organize animations and activities
- Form partnerships with other organiztions on the territory
- Develop the collections

The main axis is cultural mediation. the objective is to develop reading among all audiences in the territory by developing as many bridges as possible. The focus is on advancing accessibility. Solidarity is a strong value that underpins the entire project.

The volunteer will be in charge of developing a project centered around welcoming a multicultural project, sometimes not speaking french, it also will consist in :
- Informing the public about the Library and the ESC dispositive
- Take part in the cultural activities and partnerships organized by the Library (example : participating in the ongoing project regarding a high-school class to enable reaging to allophone people ; multilingual readings to children ; transmiting songs…)
- Creating tools : Translating the subscription forms, a video presenting the library in diffe
